Trying to save the pennies doesn't have to mean relinquishing the luxuries. Instead of going out why not make the cocktails yourself.
Try one of my favourites, the Cosmopolitan.
Two Measures of Vodka
One Measure of Cointreau
One Measure of Cranberry Juice
Half Measure of Lime Juice
Shake up with crushed ice and serve in a martini glass garnished with an orange peel or a wedge of lime on the rim.

Pastel Princess

Anne Kruger photographed by Paolo Zerbini for Volt magazine, Issue Eleven.

This cover is a culmination of all my favourite trends at the moment (/continually): camel, fur, studs, pastels, dip dye and the detachable collar.. Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes

The Young Carrie

AnnaSophia Robb has been set to play the young Carrie Bradshaw in HBO's pilot sitcom The Carrie Diaries, the prequel to the highly successful Sex and the City. The sitcom, again taking inspiration from the book written by Candice Bushnell (with the same name), will follow Carrie's younger self as she tries to manoeuvre her way through the big city of New York in the 1980's. Sarah Jessica Parker, who played Bradshaw in SATC, saw great success with the show and has even been dubbed a fashion icon largely due to her character's fashion finesse. We'll have to wait and see whether the famous Bradshaw style also rubs off on AnnaSophia.
Perhaps the resemblence between Robb and Parker is slightly lacking...

Model fun

Proving that a good model really can pull off any look. Bravo Coco.

Liar Liar

Following a Facebook group outing the British model, Agyness Deyn has revealed that up until now she has been lying about her age and is actually 29 years old not 24 years old. Advised by her agency, she trimmed off a few years as, apperently, eighteen is too old for a new model. Seems to have done the trick for Ms Deyn.

Cream of the Crop

Last night, the 84th Academy Awards invited the best of the cinematic world to come together and celebrate each others success. Alongside this secretly many of the women (and some of the men) spent most the night slyly eyeing up each others dresses, praying that the six month of vigous beauty preparation was worth it and spending the whole night looking forward to finally breaking the celery stick fast and indulging in a real meal. Despite these antics, some really shone.

Quick note: Points go to Angelina Jolie (see photos) for succeeding to keep a straight face whilst striking the most awkward pose. Extra points also go to partner, Brad, for despite the smug look on his face, he also manages to feign awareness of Jolie's antics. Word to the wise though Angelina, next time, do your stretches before the event.

Save the best till last: McQ by Alexander McQueen

Sarah Burton really outdid herself this time. Set to a distinctly Autumnal backdrop, a flourish of sea blues, karkee greens, scarlet reds and jet blacks blew down the runway. True to the brand, this season we saw structured tops with full skirt, volumous bottoms all cinched in at the waist with a hard-edged wide belt. Highlights include a ruby red shift dress showcasing delicate brocade detailing, Victorian-esque leafed coat with full net skirt and the beautifully colourful floral mini dress with a dramatic netted fan detail spanning the decolage.
