A monochromatic vision at Paris Spring/Summer Fashion Week 2012

The brisk Paris chill inspired harsh contrasts at this years Spring/Summer Paris Fashion Week, with many of the front row enforcing full impact whilst opting for head-to-toe monochrome.
At Chanel, many of the guests coincidently coordinated with the steely bright white back drop that Karl Largerfeld had created for his runway show. Favourites include Alice Dellal in exposing lace and Caroline Seiber in white metallic.

Carine Roitfeld's Irreverent Dinner, which took place during the week, assumed a very different identity. With the guests drawing inspiration from the event’s venue, which was decorated with rich luxurious fabrics and gothic embellishments, many dressed simple yet dramatic in shades of black and white. Some also vamped up their look even further with a bright wine red lip.

Best of the night includes, hostess, Carine Roitfeld, in black velvet and sheer tights and Karlie Kloss and Abbey Lee Kershaw who stood out from the crowd in floor length cut out gowns.

Monochrome also sprung up in many more of Paris’ front rows. The versatility of the trend is so apparent and is exemplified by the celebrities below who, although all use the same colour palette, have still managed to stick to their signature style.
