Trending: Prints

Whether it is graphic, Aztec, cosmic or floral, busy and colourful prints are everywhere at the moment. Obviously, print is a trend that never expires, but it seems that this year they are brighter, more intricate and more exciting than ever. Designers have really done their home work when it comes to what the eye wants to see, these patterns allowing it to dance all over the fabric finding new thrills at each glance. It’s not just the originality but the quality and the quantity that have improved. This season the designers are daring you to risk the all over pattern and mix and match different patterns and prints in one outfit. What is perhaps more exciting, is that the high street has been able to replicate these designs with high quality but for a much more ‘bank balance’ friendly price. This is especially true for shops such as Motel Rocks, ASOS and Whistles who have both brought out a selection of high energy printed apparel. Not only that but with the increasing volume of collaborations of top designers with high street stores, the creativity of design is transferred straight from the designer’s hand to the high street consumer.  One of the most popular designer/high street collaborations is Mary Katrantrou for Topshop, whose collection sold out in a matter of hours. Check out below for some of my favourite designer and high street ‘printed’ looks.
